Growing up my mom was a stay home mom until I think my older brother Mark was able to fill her role of making sure we did not kill each other. I remember her making great meals and desserts, sewing, doing laundry, bible club, making my dad’s lunch and kissing him good bye in the morning, etc…everything that I thought moms did. Needless to say looking back on things now makes realize that she was more than that. She was strong, intelligent, a conflict management professional, rub your head when you are sick, etc…sacrificed her time and energy for 7 children that eventually made most days last 48 hours versus 24 hours.
This is where the statement of “Men marry their moms” is so true in most cases, but not all.
My girls are so lucky to have my wife as their mom. She has all the traits my mom had, but with a little more zest. She is strong, intelligent, a conflict management professional, rub your head when you are sick, etc…she is super mom and wonder woman wrapped into one.
This is where I want to say to all moms…Thank you for all you do and for putting up with all the crap / headaches / sickness/ dumb ass husband ideas and antics.
