Teachers

Growing up I attended both public http://www.w-delaware.k12.ia.us/ and private http://blessedtrinitycluster.com/schools which both had a big bearing on my life.

“Back in the day” the catholic grade school I attended had nuns and non nuns as teachers and there was no limits on how to correct disobedience (the makers of the 12 inch rulers are probably sitting on the beach and enjoying the Jimmy Buffet life). High school had it’s ups and downs and usual clicks that I think some of us can relate too or recall. I was not in the popular circle, smart circle. the chess club, the homecoming court, FFA, etc…I just went about my business.

But one staple I always remember were the teachers I had thru those times. They were always there for me when I had questions about schoolwork or doubts in myself or my beliefs. But most of all they challenged me to be my best each day, which I try to do everyday and pass on to my daughters although sometimes hard.

I could never undertake the task/challenege of being a teacher (I volunteered at my daughter’s school and how the teachers are not raging alcoholics – you got me), but I tip my cap and salute you for what you do. I would not put you in the realm of being a verteran of the arm forces per say, but you are the front lines of generations to come.

But thank you teachers of St.Matthew Catholic school http://www.stmatthewcr.org/school/for teaching and molding our two children and all the teachers and administrators across the world for doing the same

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

PS – Here is a movie image from back in the day that might strike a chord with some.
